Cozy Chicago Bungalow

In this home we designed for two movie-set directors, we curated a series of modern, colorful, and vibrant rooms to enjoy life together. The existing bungalow lacked usable space with small dark rooms, outdated finishes and a meandering connection to the rear yard.

We designed a three-story rear addition to expand the home and bring in abundant daylight while retaining the cozy, Chicago bungalow home feel. We clad the home with new siding and designed a large sliding glass door to provide a direct connection to the rear yard. On the interior punchy tiles, bold fun colors, yellow oak, and open shelving niches for books and trinkets allow the owners to personalize their setting, becoming a backdrop for creativity.
