Oak Park, In Progress, Residential
At the heart of this reimagined Oak Park estate is a desire to create a place for family to gather, grow, and linger. The existing historic home has been thoughtfully restored and expanded with a central living space that opens onto an expansive outdoor terrace and connects the home to a coach house. Modern amenities are woven naturally into the experience of the home, including a 3000-bottle wine room discovered through a glass floor in the kitchen. Warm and enduring materials give the home a sense of permanence, while green roofs provide natural insulation and help maintain comfort through the seasons. South-facing glass draws daylight deep into the home, allowing the changing light to become part of the experience throughout the day. Dinner parties spill into the yard, conversations linger around the table, and everyday rituals unfold in spaces designed to engage the senses. This is a home meant to be fully lived in, creating the setting for meaningful moments, lasting memories, and generations of family life.
