Oak Park, 2025, Residential, Interior Design
Located in a historic neighborhood, we set out to design a home for L’Arche Chicago that actually feels like a home, in spite of the institutional codes governing this Group Home. We centered the entire home around the dinner table; family, community, laughter, love, belonging. A central courtyard design was at the heart of the home to provide members with abundant natural light, views and access to the garden and additional gathering spaces. Rich colors, natural woods, thoughtfully-designed acoustics, and warm walnut millwork create spaces of rest and dignity.
Sustainability is fundamental to this home with a Net-Zero Energy design featuring 87 solar panels production, all-electric energy, triple-pane windows, and geothermal heating & cooling.
