A Light-Filled Kitchen and Open Dining RoomGreen Architects in Chicago

This 2-story traditional home in River Forest, IL had a lot going for it - A beautiful lot adjacent to Thatcher Woods, proud masonry construction, and strong bones. But it was tired. Worn from almost 100 years of use, the home needed a lot of work to be brought up to today's living standards. The owners brought us a long wishlist of work, a tight schedule, and a budget.

Challenge accepted. The Elements Way principles guided us to create a project that balances the Art, Science, and Economics. Ideas and scope were distilled. The end result: a light-filled Kitchen connecting to an open Dining Room, a new Master suite. After the project scope was defined, there was money left in the budget for the owner to upgrade finishes throughout the rest of the home, such as walnut bookcases and hutches, light fixtures, and a fresh color palette. Beauty and Value - Delivered.
